Hello from the Railsplitter

Just saw your video clip about “letting things go…” I hafta tell ya from personal experience that letting things go is THE ONLY WAY to make any sense of it all, yeah??? I’m not a heller climber like you, just a regular guy, but I’ve done my share of climbing, sailing, remote camping, etc., and your line about “being alone” (like Greta Garbo) really resonated with me, since I’m known in my own small circle for solo Laser sailing to the islands and hanging out with the wildlife. Islas Los Coronados, I mean, off the northern end of Baja, primo wildlife sanctuaries where I’ve spent the best nights of my life… including the best solo night of my life, sleeping at the 467′ summit of Isla Norte and watching a radical meteor shower. I wouldn’t trade that night for a night with the hottest Penthouse bi-yatch on earth, and that ain’t no lie. Just know that I really respect you and your accomplishments, more than some climbing heroine (with an e, not the drug) like you will ever know. End of transmission. “ADIOS!!!”

Wow, is this for real? I actually got a response… “Call CNN!!!” Just kidding, I know you’re busy… as I am busy, putting together an e-book with 31 tales of adventure and 10 random poems (said poems written long ago in a galaxy far, far away). I’m incorporating photos into my stories this time, which is a first. The centerpiece of my book is “Part III: Laser Voyages—The Island Trilogy” (narratives of the initial voyages to each island in the group). When some person with a disability reads my humble narratives, that person will be instantly transported into another world… a world like that created by Robert Louis Stevenson in TREASURE ISLAND. Minus the pirates and the treasure, of course… unless you count the wildlife and the solitude. Gotta go, keep up your good work!!! You are THE BOMB!!! Sincerely,

    Forgot the classic Zen proverb:

“If you are filled with desire, your sorrows swell like the grass after the rain… but if you subdue desire, your sorrows fall from you like drops of water from a lotus flower.”
