High Infatuation

Hi Steph!
I am currently reading High Infatuation and I cannot stop. I found an old, seemingly ragged, copy from the SLC public library. I had no idea what the book was about or even who you were, but it has turned out to be one of the best books I have read in a long time, and I think it is because I can relate to you and your story so much. Oh how I wish I could up and leave my graduate program to just teach yoga and climb every day. Unfortunately student loans are debilitating. As a new climber, starting before I left Pittsburgh for Utah last summer, you are inspiring me to not only dream big, but to think bigger. Yoga has helped me find self awareness, but climbing has helped me conquer fears and look at life in a more calculative, yet freer, way. Your book has lit a fire in me that I never have felt before, and I am generally a pretty motivated person. I just wanted to take a minute to thank you. You are strong, and the type of person young women should aspire to be in today’s world.

That being said, I recently saw Reese Witherspoon speaking at one award ceremony or another, I’m not sure where the clip came from. She started a producing company named Pacific Standard a few years back that features strong woman who do not let their gender stop them from reaching for seemingly impossible goals. I think your story would be worth submitting to her company. It is so inspiring and captivating, and why not spread your light to an even larger scale than you already have?

Once again, thank you for sharing your stories, wisdom, and motivation.
Sam

Hi Sam,
Thanks so much for your nice words! And yes, next time you see Reese Witherspoon, please tell her to send me an email ;P

Get a handle on those student loans, and erase them. Time is fluid and life is long, and there are times to commit and times to cut free.

Wishing you the best for this new year coming,
Steph
