Think Good Thoughts

Hey Steph,
How’s it going? My name’s Ruth, and I’m a Colorado native. I’ve been in love with climbing and the mountains since I could walk, and just recently, as I was flying to France, I read your book, High Infatuation. I’ve been in France for about a month now, trying to climb as much as I can, but every time I start missing the red rocks of the southwest, I read an excerpt from your book. And every time I’m climbing, and get to a somewhat tricky/scary section, I’ve started saying to myself, ‘Just think good thoughts. This is going to be alright.’
It’s really helped a lot–thank you so much for being an inspiration to women climbers!
Ruth
P.S. Do you have any recommendations for good climbing in France? 🙂

Hi Ruth,
Thanks! I’m glad to know the mantra works for you too 🙂 I’m heading to Europe tomorrow myself, but to base jump. I have climbed a little bit in France, in Buoux and the Gorges du Tarn. I would love to go to Fontainebleau, Ceuse and the Verdon. Those are the next French destinations for me….oh, and Chamonix too. Let me know how they are!
xxSteph

    Steph –
I recently finished your book, too, and agree with Ruth that you’re an inspiration! I just started climbing and reading High Infatuation was the perfect prelude to getting on the wall. I’m passing it on to my climbing partner…

    Safe travels!
