Michigan Ice Fest
Hi Steph,
My name is Sarah and I have never climbed before (well if you include a little climb and repel activity I did in WV then I did just a little 😉 ) but my friend just introduced me to a great event up in the upper peninsula of Michigan in February Call Ice Fest… You get to climb the frozen water falls and up the beautiful coast of Pictured Rocks in Munising, MI. I was wondering do you go to this event, I was told it was a big climbers event. Even so, I am looking forward to starting a fun and new activity. Every year I am trying something new, for 2010 it was sky diving and next year it is Ice climbing LOL

The fest is a lot of fun and has been growing every year, some good folks put it on and there are great climbers that present their exploits, as well as free brew from the sponsors. One suggestion (imo) would be to find out who is presenting (i believe barry blanchard , roger strong to name a couple) and read there bios, every “pro” i have met is down to earth as they come, and you would not know they have been to the extremes of what most people could imagine! world class as athletes and as people.
