Please come to Los Angeles! Already 50 pages into your book and it is fantastic. If I weren’t finishing my BA I would have read the entire thing by now.

Just finished reading the part where you free solod Pervertical Sanctuary. How many times did you do this route before Sender Films recorded it for The Sharp End? That’s when I first heard of Steph Davis. : ) Great story so far.

  18. Amy says:

I don’t want your book to end. I’m savoring it as I would a yummy bowl of gelato or hot coffee. Thank you for being brave enough to put your heart out there for us to unwind!

Hi Steph, I bought your book in Moab this spring during our annual trip to the Creek. I loved your honesty and I LOVED your thoughts on fear and working through it. Thank you! I so often feel like the only climber on the planet that is scared. Thank you for putting yourself out there and inspiring me to keep at it!

  20. Ally says:

almost done with it! excellent writing, steph!

  21. steph davis says:

Sender shot me the second time I free soloed Pervertical (which was the 4th time I free soloed the Diamond).

  22. steph davis says:

    Glad you love it 🙂

I cried when I read chapter 14 about Fletch, and laughed when managed to finagle your way onto that first helicopter jump. After reading your book, I now have a completely different view of base jumping and would actually consider doing it! And on Friday I’m going to go climb Bastille crack (although not free solo). Thanks for being so honest about overcoming your fears and for being an inspiration to me and to women climbers everywhere!

  24. Matt says:

Just finished your book today, I really loved it!!! Thanks for the inspiration, the parts where you were soloing the diamond made my hands sweat like crazy ha ha.

  25. steph davis says:

It’s so unusual to write to a book author but I couldn’t keep to myself all the excitement and happiness that your book brought me and I was longing to show my appreciation in a way. Even if you never read these words, positive thoughts just have to be let free out there.
I follow your blog, but holding “Learning to fly “in my hands felt so much more special. I was no longer on another continent, I was living right there in your world.
Honestly thank you for your talented, inspirational and so lively story –telling.Your thoughts on trust, fear and new beginnings were truly soul- touching for me. You made me think about how personal boundaries may be different for each and every one of us, but the important thing is to never stop pushing it, never stop exploring our inner source of unknown and unexpected strength.Through our lives whatever happens we should never loose the hunger for new beginnings and new sensations.
Please, keep on following your hearth and living the inspiring life of and exceptional human being, a successful female athlete and the kind animal lover and vegan that you are!
Thank you once again for putting yourself out there in the book and sharing matters so personal with the rest of the world.
I am doing it kind of backwards;” High infatuation” is next on my wishlist. And I surely look forward to your next book. 🙂
All the best to Moab B.a.s.e Adventures. It’s incredible!
Warmest smiles and hugs from Bulgaria

(A very novice skydiver –scared to death from the open door but already irreversibly in love with the sport and its community
I am also a beginner climber –although”climber” would be a huge overvalue, since I’m still conquering the gym heights, but enjoying every second with the pure excitement of a toddler and dreaming about the outdoors.)
P.S I love your Asparagus risotto tactic 🙂 I made one with broccoli too. Yummy!

Thank you so much Krasia! I hope you also like High Infatuation, and I really appreciate your letter 🙂
