Dirtbagging 103

Hi Steph,
Love the blog, it is really great.
Hope the pooch is doing well.

I had a question on something I read on the blog.
Back in June 2007, one person said that you had given a slide show on dirtbagging.
Are you giving the slideshow again?

If not, is there anywhere on your blog to view the slides?

Thanks,
Jay Finch

Dear Jay,
Thanks! Fletch is doing great. She is super geriatric, but she is a very happy arthritic little creature, and she is still having a good time 🙂 She even still gets out for the occasional roadtrip!

One slide show I did for a while was about my book, and so had some bits about truck living and such. I guess that would be a good photo folder to put on my home page, thanks for the suggestion! But if you have any questions or you want some tips, I’m still pretty in touch with dirtbag living…
xxSteph

Hey Steph, I would be amped to see a bit of that slide show too! I am getting pretty serious about taking months off of work come this summer, have saved some cash, so I’d take any advice you have on how to make it last from crag to crag.

    Cheers!

Hi Allison! This is a funny thing I used to do, when still living in my Oldsmobile and I was super duper poor :)…. I used to keep a square piece of plywood and a rolling pin in my car, and I had a plastic bowl and a bag of flour. Then at night, when someone would make a campfire, I’d mix up some dough and roll out tortillas, and cook them in a frying pan. People were so psyched to have fresh torts! So other people would cook up some beans and veggies and rice, and we’d all have a mexican feast together. Flour is pretty cheap, and it often led to a good dinner and a good party.
    🙂 Steph
