Book #2

Hi Steph

I’m very much impressed of what you do and even more of your attitude and your way of approaching things. Congratulations!

I’m based in Switzerland, often spending vacations in Wengen (I looked at some of your movies/interviews and also saw that sometimes you spend some days in Lauterbrunnen). Probably not much surprisingly to you, I’m interested in outdoor activities, doing ski touring in winter and alpine climbing (some rock climbing) in summer. 2009 I tried with a fried of mine Denali (without success – 10 days of really bad weather) and this year I’ll be part of a medical expedition to Himlung Himal, Nepal.
No base jumping, no wingsuit flying – but at least I watched your Ignite Boulder presentation. Because, “you never know…”!

I was wondering if you are really about to write a new book and if so when this might become available on the market.

Thanks and warm regards,
Markus

Hi Markus,
Thanks for writing 🙂 Yes, I love Lauterbrunnen and come at least once a year, usually in the summer. Good luck on your expedition to Nepal!

Yes, I have written a second book, and it is finished (thank god) and coming out April 2. It’s called Learning to Fly, and it’s a memoir of transforming from a climber into a base jumper and wingsuit flier, as well as the stories of losing my dog Fletch and finding my husband, Mario and doing lots of free soloing. It’s also a story of some unique friends in the jumping and climbing communities, and some places I also consider my friends, including Lauterbrunnen, Moab, the Longs Peak Diamond, Arizona, Boulder and Rifle, Colorado. You can pre-order it on Amazon right now.
I hope you will like it….
Steph

    Hi Steph!

I can’t wait for the new book. I’m an american currently studying in the UK and would like to pre order the book. I’m assuming you get some sort of commission when people pre order from amazon through the link on your page. Is there any way I can make that happen when ordering from the UK amazon (amazon.co.uk)?

    Thanks!

Go right ahead and order it however you want! Basically I have a publisher (Simon and Schuster), and they track sales from any source. So it doesn’t change things for me, however people buy it. I hope you like it, and thanks for the thought!
