Probiotics and Supplements
Steph, I dig the blog and the vegan-way.
I do wonder if you take a multi-vitamin (brand/formulation) and how often you take it. And do you consistently (daily) take a probiotic? Does your body depend on grains, or can you personally forgo all grains?
Thank you Steph! (I met you a ways back at an event!)

Hi Hope,
Here’s a post I wrote about supplements a while back. I also take a women’s probiotic (this is the one I like) and eleuthero, as well as CW Hemp Everyday Plus.
The more I learn about the importance of the microbiome and intestinal health on our entire body and mind, the more I understand why we need to avoid taking antibiotics and focus on keeping our gut flora as healthy as possible! I used to be literally plagued by UTIs and took antibiotics regularly as a result, destroying my microbiome, and since discovering D Mannose and probiotics (in the form of supplements as well as fermented foods) I’m thankful to say I haven’t had one or taken antibiotics in years.
In general my diet can best be described as plant-based, whole grain. I avoid eating processed flour and grains, but staples for me are whole grains like brown rice, quinoa, brown rice pasta, oats and buckwheat. I am a huge fan of Ezekiel sprouted bread and bagels too.
Basically I just try to eat real, whole food with lots of whole grains, greens and protein (in the form of tofu, tempeh, nuts and legumes) and avoid processed stuff and sugars.
🙂 Steph
