Moab Happenings!
- September 2011
- Climb
Basically everything is going on here in Moab in the next few weeks….and fall has come with perfect temperatures for everything!
Climbers, come to the Indian Creek clean up and party hosted by Friends of Indian Creek on September 24. Everyone is meeting at the Donnelly Canyon parking lot in the morning, and working at the crags. Party at the same spot that night, with food, slide shows and a raffle. If you want to come out to the Creek and don’t have 10 sets of cams, this would be a great way to connect with fun people to climb with the next day!
For the jumpers, Skydive Moab is holding its annual “Mother of All Boogies” on September 21 to 25. This is my favorite event ever! If you would like to make a jump for your first time, it’s a fun way to come for a tandem jump. For experienced jumpers, big planes are coming in from Arizona, and we will all get to jump all day every day. This year they are having balloon loads too, for the first time.
And I just got this letter from Sabrina….a Canadian climber and circus performer who can teach aerial dance here in October! If you would like to come to her workshop, please send me an email so we can organize it 🙂
Hi Steph,
My name is Sabrina. I’m an aerialist, climber, dancer, circus performer who’s coming to Moab this October. My family and I are vacationing there, doing some climbing, cycling etc. We’re actually driving down from Ontario in our RV so we’re trying to make the most out of our trip for such a crazy long drive. Your name came up as someone to contact. I teach aerial dance, more specifically silks and rope (I’ve attached a couple photos so you know what I’m talking about). I’m wondering if you think there may be any interest in the area for me to teach a workshop of sorts while I’m there? I’m just trying to get a feel for it to see if it’s something worth pursuing. Generally speaking, people such as climbers, dancers, yogis (people like you!) are totally into it. I could bring down a rig with me that I could set up anywhere really.
I’d really appreciate any thoughts you may have.
Thanks and hope we meet!

Wow. This looks absolutely amazing! My next outdoor climbing trip might need to be there! Makes me wish I didn’t live in Florida!Â
