Icing Tricks for Finger Injuries

Steph,
I sustained my first finger injury and have been working on healing so I can get back to climbing. Aside from taping my finger I have been regularly icing it to reduce inflammation. Today, I decided to try using cold rocks instead of ice to help my finger and it worked great! I took a river rock that fits perfectly in my palm, dampened it, and put it in the freezer. It was way better than using messy, melty ice and it felt great. It stayed cold for the right amount of time and was the perfect temperature. I doubt I am the first to do this-but I figured I would share 🙂
Erin

And even better, no plastic bags required….Erin, you are a GENIUS. Thanks for the tip!
🙂 Steph

Same problem and I just happen to have a nice box (from my urban wall building days) of rocks in the garage. Gonna give it a try.
