- Hi Steph Climb Uncategorized
I just wanted to say thank you for being such a great role model for my daughter. It’s nice to have her be able to look up to someone who not only oozes physical fitness, but is also a vegan. And although she is still young, she asks to go climbing everyday, and the minute we walk into our gym she sees the poster of you on the wall, and can point you out. So again, I wanted to just drop a line and say thanks!!

Hi Steph,
Congratulations for your beautiful climbing and life journey.
I am from Brazil but I`m in Lander,WY working in this summer as Outdoor Educator. As you, I love climbing and I find myself here because I`m happiest in the mountains.
Although I climb since 2001, crag climbing is pretty much a challenge .. I will stay in US until the end of August.. I really hope get better.. it is so excited climb a beautiful crack!. watching your movies and observing your movements.. it give me some inspiration! ๐

Hi Steph,
I just wanted to let you know that your book has served as such an inspiration for me. My parents bought me a copy about three years ago, and I’ve read and reread it so many times and have taken it on many of my travels. I really enjoy climbing along with just being outdoors, and I love the idea of having a simple (in terms of possessions) and adventurous lifestyle. Your book has taught me so much and still inspires me every time I read it, and I just wanted to send along a word of appreciation! Have a wonderful summer!

Hi Fero! I hope you have been having good summer weather now ๐ It’s a good question, what keeps people going. For me, it’s just trying to be free and do the best I can. Finding enjoyment in life, and trying to keep things simple. Also, I find a lot of things very funny, and very interesting. There is a lot of that in climbing, I think, as well as other things….

hi Steph, my name is Jose, my hobby is rock climbing, mostly sport and a bit of trad, but I’d like to be more into it. I have climbed some 5.11c onsigth and 5.12a and 5.12b with a lot of work on them and a bit o pain on me (all sport). But I’ve seen that my abilities at trad are quite faraway from my wishes. Do you have any advice for me?, How can I improve my capacities on trad climbing?.
Also Iยดm Planning a rock trip in USA next year. It’ll include Yosemite, Red Rocks, Bishop and Joshua Tree. Would you recommend any place that I could visit?.
Finally, It’d be great if you can visit Colombia some day. There are some good places to climb here.
Thanks and good wishes
Jose
Ciao Jose ๐ I think your plan to visit the States is going to be the solution to improving your traditional climbing….you know how it is, you just have to start to do it, and you will become more comfortable and have a better time. If it fits into your trip, you might want to visit Devils Tower. It is a really beautiful and unique place, and very good for getting more comfortable (and having a great time!) with climbing cracks and placing gear. There’s truly no place like it. If you are going to Wyoming, maybe your travel will take you near City of Rocks in Idaho, which is also a really nice place–and which will offer you sport climbing and gear climbing, as well as great camping.
I hope you have a great trip!!
xx Steph
