Hello From Mexico City

Hi steph:
My name is Diego, im from Mexico city and I’ve been climbing for almost a year now, but lately I’ve hadn’t the time to climb as often as I would love to, because of university, but I would love a recommendation from you to improve mi climbing… I think my flaws are resistance, and my fear to big drops…well I hope you can write me back… with a short training or a few advise. By the way, I’m a big fan of your climbing and flying 😛 i love your basejumping videos and wingsuit flying!
You look like a very brave person! Thanks, have a great….week? month? lol 😛

Ciao Diego,
Do you have any way to do pullup workouts? If you can just do a few pullpup pyramids every week (start with 1, then a set of 2, then 3, and keep going up to your highest number, and then do sets back down to 1), I really think it will help your strength, even if you don’t have time to get out climbing.
For fear of heights, that is harder to practice without climbing. Any fear is reduced with consistent exposure to it, over time. It’s normal to be afraid of falling and of heights in your first year of climbing. Don’t feel bad about it, but don’t give in to it either. Just keep climbing, and trying to push your comfort level with heights and short falls. Gradually it will start to become more familiar, and your courage will increase 🙂
xxSteph
