Hello From Geneva
- May 2014
- Hi Steph
Hi Steph, I just wanted to send you a note to send my condolences for the loss of your husband, and your friend Stanley, and to say that I am sending you thoughts & energy & thinking of you.
I am a Canadian climber, living in Geneva. I just got back from a few days up in Chamonix where I devoured “High Infatuation” – a girlfriend/climbing buddy from home located an English bookshop in Geneva & had it sent to me after reading it a couple weeks ago. I am sure you hear this all the time but your climbing is incredibly inspiring. Even as a climber, the leads, adventures, risks you write about are mind-boggling. Even though the climbs you do are on a whole other level than what I do as a climber I really connected with much of what you wrote/emotional experiences/thoughts about climbing. There was one line that really hit me: “When you spend a lot of time inside your head, things have to be right in there or nothing else works.” So simple but something I really needed to hear in my life right now.
Anyway, I am just settling back in here at home and thought I would check out your website and opened it up to see your post about your friend, and the mention that you lost your husband last year, so I just wanted to write and say my thoughts are with you.
Thank you for the inspiration and I hope you are able to maintain your own inspiration through this as well,
Allison
Thank you Allison, I really appreciate that.
All the best,
Steph
