Greetings From Japan

Hi Steph, Greetings from Japan. I am Masaru who live in the west in Japan. I am the same age of you but am male. I have found your website”High Place” recently and look forward to up-dating.
I have forgotten the time and which publication I knew you first. but it might be a catalogs or something like that. Few years later I started climbing , I also started to subscribe CLIMBING magazines from the US by mail and your articles always impressed me and it has not changed now.
Moab ,the place you live, I have been there once.

It was summer in 1998 and I remember that I dropped in Moab Adventure Outfitters. It located 5 or 10 minutes drive from the motel I stayed.
In June,2000. We challenged Yosemite’s Zodiac and we made it. For preparing for the climb, I ordered the latest A5 portaledge and lots of carabiners from the shop.
Your climbing photos are really beautiful and powerful. I used to challenge Yosemite and Zion’s walls in my twenties. At the present day. I can not climb even 5.9s.
At the last. Is there any your climbing DVD’s on the market. If some DVDs has been on sale. Would you please let me Know the one you recommended.
Thank you for your great photos on High Place.
Cheers, Masaru

Dear Masaru,
I am really impressed by your english! It sounds like you had some great climbs in the States. It would be great to visit Japan someday.
I most recently worked with two great film makers, Peter Mortimer and Eric Perlman. Eric has been making fantastic climbing films for decades, with the Masters of Stone.
You will really like the new Masters of Stone VI, because Yuji Huriyama is in it, and he is an absolutely amazing climber, as I’m sure you know.
Peter’s film The Sharp End is spectacular and very well done, and I know you will love it too!
If you check my home page, highinfatuation.com, you will find three new video clips posted, and they are all edits from Sender Films.
Thanks for writing to me Masaru!
🙂 xx Steph
