Gratitude For Your Rad-itude
- September 2014
- Hi Steph
Steph!
My name is Hannah, and I just made up that pun right now.
I’ve been meaning to send you a note since I read your new book. My sister who has a brand new climbing addiction sent it to me. I would try to read it before bed and then get so excited I would be google searching where the nearest plane I could jump out of was. Anyway I was living in the big island of Hawaii and apparently we have enough to worry about with hurricanes and volcanoes that people aren’t trying to heighten the experience with sky diving.
I found your book thrilling, inspiring and incredibly touching. I want to thank you for sharing your story and for being vulnerable and brave. I have since been sharing parts of your story with my students (I work with a variety of outdoor education organizations) and have passed the book along to other young women following similar journeys of passion for a life outdoors.
Thank you for bravely walking your path, sharing your story and therefore making the world a better place.
Love and happiness,
Hannah
Hi Hannah,
Thanks so much! I’m glad you liked Learning to Fly. Funny enough, my friend Chris (who’s in the book) lived for a long time in Hawaii and worked at a dropzone there–there is a lot of skydiving, but they do deal with some funky wind conditions because of the ocean. Thank you also for sharing some of the stories with your friends, that’s a huge compliment.
🙂 Steph
