Freewaters Whistler Flipflops

Recently I was contacted by a company called Freewaters. They make sandals and shoes, and have a strong environmental and humanitarian philosophy, using some of the profits to provide clean drinking water to people in need around the world. Many of their shoes are vegan, and they thought I might be interested in them.
They sent me a pair of the Whistler flipflops and a pair of their canvas shoes (which I also like very much!). These vegan flipflops have a footbed made with MSR Thermarest ridge foam, and this is a great feature–it feels really good under your feet and doesn’t show the dirt. I guess in a pinch your chihuahua could bivy on them too. Since these flops are so functional and light! and sturdy, I have started throwing them in my crag pack to lounge around in once I’ve done the approach in my real hiking shoes. I’ve also gotten away with some moderate actual hiking and rock scrambling in them.
I give these flops a big thumbs up, and Freewaters seems like a company committed to taking action toward positive change.
