Female Climbers
Hi Steph I just wanted to say thank you for being a strong beautiful female climber! You are an inspiration for me. Usually when my partner and I go climbing we feel like we are the only girls out there or at least the only girls out there not climbing with our boyfriends. Not that there is anything wrong with climbing with boys but sometimes I feel like there is a lack of girl power in my local trad community. I also get frustrated with how female climbers are portrayed in magazines its as if you can only be a female climber if you climb in a sports bra and little booty shorts and don’t forget the cleavage shots! Don’t get me wrong the ladies are lovely but I wish that female climbers could have more weight put on their accomplishments and less on how hot they look when high stepping. You are one bad ass chick I love to read your blog its such an inspiration for me thank you for being such a great role model.

Thanks so much for being such an inspiration as Betsy said. I’m just a newbie to climbing, only 2 months and unfortunately I hardly ever see girls out on the rocks in my state so Ive had to look to the international scene for role models. The sexy outfits so often depicted, yes look great and work for the climbing gym but as far as I can tell, so not practical on the rocks! With sun beating down, bugs, scratches from debris etc. So not only am I totally climbing stoked, Ive begun designing some comfy (yet practical sexy:P) climbing clothes. I new the Fashion design degree would eventually come in handy for something:)
