I’ve been working with Evolv to make the Addict slipper for the last 2 years: the leather version was first and the synthetic (vegan) version is also in process!
After going through various prototypes, I finally got the production shoes a couple of months ago, and I couldn’t be happier with the fit. My hope for this slipper was to have a shoe that would work great in the gym, and also be the ultimate crack slipper. I think these slippers are the ticket. The toebox is really precise. The shape is flat with a very slight, almost imperceptible, downturn at the toe, and that’s why they climb so well. I’m also really happy with the heel–it’s low profile and clean. They are perfect for cracks because the upper is smooth and seamless, and this is what lets you put your foot in a crack all the way and keeps it from hurting, as long as you have sized them appropriately (no curled toes!).
As always with slippers, I’m wearing different sizes for different things. My staple size for the gym or more face-y crack climbing is 5.5, and my street shoe size (these are all men’s sizes) is 6.5. For splitter cracks, I’m wearing size 6. I have very narrow, low volume feet, so someone with wider feet would probably get the same size as street shoe for cracks, and a half size down for face. This is also my preferred alpine climbing shoe, in size 6.5 with socks.

I recently had my car broken into and they took my gym bag with my trusty Mocs. When I went to replace them, I noticed the Addicts and was curious about how they’d compare. My toes had been a bit too curled in the size 42 Mocs, so I tried on some 42.5 and it seemed a bit too big. I guess I was in between sizes all along. I tried on some 42 Addicts and they were absolutely perfect. I couldn’t agree more that the toebox is really precise – my toes feel really secure but not cramped or curled. I’ve already banged out some 5.11b fingers in them and felt great! Cheers on a fantastic new shoe!
