Hello From Georgia

Dear Steph,
I have just completed reading “High Infatuation” and I can’t express how much this experience has meant to me. You have written a book that is not just about climbing but it is a wonderful journal that speaks to the soul and to the adventurous spirit that lives within many of us traveling through life. I am so glad I came upon your picture in Men’s Journal Magazine. It sparked my interest in you and your sport and culminated in acquiring your book and our subsequent correspondence. I am a strong believer in things happening for a purpose, both large and small, and that the most dramatic circumstances may be borne on the wings of a whisper.

Your book became my whispering wings and reaffirms my belief that we are all here for some supreme purpose. Thank you so much for this wonderful gift. You will never know how much I have enjoyed and will re-enjoy your book. I recommend it to anyone interested in your sport, lovers of dogs, and just folks like me that need to keep their spirits alive with new adventures.

You write a great tale and you are just on the cusp of being what you will ultimately become. The adventures for you have just begun. I cannot wait to read what you encounter next. You have great gifts and I admire what you are doing for this world. Also, anyone who loves dogs is number one in my book. My father, who I loved and admired greatly, once said you can’t really trust anybody who doesn’t love dogs! I am sure he is looking down on you with great favor.

I hope we can stay in touch from time to time and I hope you can let me know if you are ever in the Greater Atlanta. It would be an honor to meet you. Also, I would like to know if and when you publish any new works. I enjoy your website, the climbing videos are terrific, and I am dying to know whose music is playing on the Death Of A Cowboy video.

All the best to you and yours,
Robert M. Lee, Jr.
(Bob)

Dear Bob,
Thank you!! It’s so great to know that my stories and thoughts have brought some happiness to you. And it’s really kind of you to bring it back to me, by letting me know. And of course, I couldn’t agree with you more (and your father) about dogs. It’s always my hope to be as good as Fletch, and to take lessons from the animals, because I think they are truly pure at heart.

After my book tour, a lot of people asked me for the playlist of my slide show (which included the Death of A Cowboy clip and the Crackhouse clip). I love these artists, and get so much inspiration from them:
the apl song, black eyed peas, elephunk
postales, federico aubele, putamayo sampler
infatuation, christina aguilera, stripped (this is the track for Death of a Cowboy)
desparecido, manu chao, clandestino
from dusk to dawn, lexicon avenue, renaissance: revelation 2
union, black eyed peas, monkey business
Enjoy!
And give a big kiss to Emma! Steph
