Contrary to popular belief, sport climbing can be f*%#king terrifying!
Yes, I know, I’m supposed to be in my car, driving from Moab to Yosemite. To see my husband and dogchild. But then I started thinking about how much I love Rifle, and how much I’m going to miss climbing there this summer when it’s so far away from Yosemite. And then I thought maybe I should just go right now for one quick little last visit….and how Rifle WOULD be on the way to Yosemite, if Colorado was west of Utah instead of east, which is how I would have organized things if anyone had asked me. So I kind of drove in the wrong direction.
I think you should let everyone know that the chipmunk survived!! Amazing photo!
Hope you are having fun in Rifle. Pete says “hi” from Lodi, and hopes you come back sometime. I know, that would require not only pointing the car towards Yosemite, but also passing thru into the desolation of the central valley…
