Kevin Reese

Steph,

Kevin Reese also introduced me to climbing (I read this on your blog) – Icicle
Creek Canyon near Leavenworth. I’ll never forget him laughing (supportively, of
course) at my jittery calves. And, just in general, I’ll never forget him. He
was a good friend. Anyway, I really liked reading your paragraph about him. I
never knew his family and only spoke to Lisa once, so after the years go by,
it’s hard to keep things tangible in your memory. Just wanted to thank you for
posting this and keeping my memories of a good friend real.

And I love your site. I am an ex-climber but your blog is inspirational…

Thanks for sharing your memories Todd. That’s so true what you said: “And, just in general, I’ll never forget him.” I feel the same. Meeting Kevin literally changed my life, and the few other times I got to see him and Lisa over the years was always memorable and inspiring. He was truly one of a kind.
🙂 Steph

WOW is all I can say.  My name is Jimmy Reese, Kevin’s older brother.  I sat down tonight and was thinking about him and googled his name, and this popped up.  I don’t know either of you, but thanks for the kind words about my brother.  He was the bravest man i ever met and he left some great people who loved him and miss him very much.  His family is still here and thinks about him daily, hourly, always.  He has his brother, his sister in law he never met, and two nieces that think the world of him (but unfortunately never met him) but ask about him all the time and i get to keep his memory alive by telling them the UNCLE Kevin stories.  In fact the baby (who is now 8) is named KEEVYN, in his honor.  Again thanks for the kind words, thanks for keeping his memory alive and if your ever in NC, miami or breckenridge, just ask where the Reese clan is and come by and let me buy you a cup of coffee.   Respectfully, Jimmy Reese.

Jimmy, it’s amazing to get this email, because I just talked about Kevin a lot with my friend Chris for his podcast and was listening to it today, and thinking about him yet again (https://stephdavis.co/blog/the-enormocast/). I guess it just goes to show his powerful energy is still flowing!
Kevin was such an amazing person. Thanks for the hospitality, and thanks for writing to me, you made my day 🙂
    All the best, Steph
