Brento Base
Hi Steph,
We are Andi and Herbert from Germany and Switzerland. We are planning to spend some days of BASE Jumping at Brento/Arco and Chamonix during first week of August 2010. Because the sites are unknown to us we and since we’ve seen you already jumped there we would like to ask you for information about:
a contact there
the possible jumps there (legal jumps, landing rules, altitude)
where can we stay over night
We’re looking forward to hearing from you and many thanks in advance.
Blues skies, soft openings and good landings
Best regards
Herbert
Ciao Herbert,
I have been to Brento several times, but can’t give you any info about Chamonix. The main jump at Brento is the ITW, the main face on Brento. Logistics are a little inconvenient, because you need to be driven about an hour to the hike for the exit. If you have a non jumping friend and a car, this will be much easier. Early morning and late afternoon are the best for winds. There is also a slider down jump near the castle, but the terminal wall is kind of what you go there for. I have stayed at a place in Dro, which is quite nice, but the owner is absolutely determined to feed you breakfast whether you want it or not 🙂 If you go to the Zebrata bar, at the base of Brento, they will be able to answer all of your questions. You can also camp next to the Zebrata for free, if you bring a tent. When driving from Trento to Arco, the Zebrata bar is just there on the left at the foot of the obvious giant wall that is Brento.
Everything is legal, because it’s not America.
I hope you have a great trip!!
🙂 Steph
