Good morning Steph,
I’ve been spending some time reflecting and setting goals for this next year, and I have been reminded of just how much your book, and blog, made a major impact and influence on me; I thought I would share that with you.
A little while ago, I was feeling trapped and very unhappy in my job position (of eight long, long years), and decided to make some changes. I’ve always been influenced by Thoreau, as well as others, in terms of simplifying, living life to the fullest, and such, but reading your blog posts about following your passion, of doing what it took to make those dreams a reality, really hit home.
To make a long story short, I quit my job, went to a coding bootcamp, bought a Honda Element which I have used as my base camp, and have been simplifying and creating a new course for my life. Heck, I even went to the skydiving basecamp that you’d recommended out by Davis (the cheap one) and signed up for solo dives, but I did learn that that doesn’t quite suit me as it did you 🙂
In any case, reading your current blog posts I notice that you continue to write in such a nice way- you really put time and thought into your responses, and your general positive and optimistic approach to living life continues to inspire people. That is huge! What a gift you have, thank you for what you do 🙂
Thank you very much for writing to me: and wow, you really pulled the trigger on everything! That takes a lot of courage and motivation, so I applaud you a lot. It is inspiring and also fun for me to get an update and to know you’re out there, doing it. Congrats, and all the best to you 🙂
